DESCRIPTION

This kit is for the Melrose Vest by Samira Hill, featured in Issue 8 of The Journal of Scottish Yarns. Melrose is a striking Tunisian crochet design using three colours of Heritage DK.

Please note that this kit does not currently include the Melrose vest pattern. This is available from The Journal of Scottish Yarns here.  

THE YARN:

Heritage DK is a soft blend of Bluefaced Leicester and Masham. It is spun in Yorkshire from British wool and hand-dyed by Nina in Edinburgh, Scotland. Though colourways are represented in product photos as accurately as possible, dyelots may vary and colours may appear slightly different from monitor to monitor. 

  • WEIGHT: DK
  • CONTENT: 75% BFL / 25% Masham
  • YARDAGE: 262 yards (240 metres) / 100g skein
  • CARE: hand wash only and lay flat to dry

COLOUR OPTIONS:

  • VERSION 1: includes koala haircut for the main colour and edgings with sweet dreams and killer flamingo contrast colours
  • VERSION 2: includes almost spring for the main colour, owl king for one contrast colour and wicked pacific for the second contrast colour and edgings

SIZE OPTIONS:

You can find full information about the yardage requirements for this pattern here.  Please note that in version 1 the edgings are done using the main colour and in version 2 it uses one of the contrast colours, so yardage needed will vary for each kit. The amounts received for each size are as follows:

Size 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) {6, 7, 8, 9} 

MC koala haircut:  2 (2, 2, 3, 3) {3, 3, 4, 4} skeins

CC1 sweet dreams: 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) {2, 2, 2, 2} skein(s)

CC2 killer flamingo: 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) {2, 2, 2, 2} skein(s)

OR

MC almost spring: 2 (2, 2, 2, 2) {3, 3, 3, 3}

CC1 owl king: 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) {2, 2, 2, 2}

CC2 wicked pacific: 1 (2, 2, 2, 2) {2, 2, 2, 3}

Please check the size and yardage you think you will need from the link above, in some instances only a very small amount of a skein will be used - so you might prefer to order the size down and use an alternative edging colour for example.
